The fourth virtual competition is the Virtual Sportshall Athletics Pentathlon Competition. Pupils will take part in this event during their PE lesson.
The Suffolk PE & Sport Network (SPESN) is running countywide, virtual sportshall athletics pentathlon competitions during this term. Schools are encouraged to engage as many students as possible to participate in this team event in which all athletes take part in the following five activities:
Chest push, 10 x 10m shuttle run, speed bounce, standing long jump, vertical jump
As a schools we can complete the competition at any time, but the deadline for submitting results is Thursday 3rd December. There are four age groups, all of which are listed below, along with confirmation of the format and weight variances for the chest push activity.
Age Groups
Years 3&4: Mixed (medicine ball weight, 1kg) Years 7&8: Boys & Girls (medicine ball weight, 2kg)
Years 5&6: Mixed (medicine ball weight, 1kg) Years 9&10: Boys & Girls (medicine ball weight, 3kg)

Virtual Sportshall Athletic results from across the
Gipping Valley and Thurston School Sport Partnership
Across the GVTSSP there were 12 primary schools that took part in the Virtual Sportshall Athletics Competition. Approximately 770 pupils!
At Abbot's Hall, we had 238 pupils take part in the Virtual Sportshall Athletics Competition! We are so proud of each and every one of you who worked so hard at the 5 events.
Congratulations must to go to the Year 5/6 team who achieved the second top team score overall in their category with 2,187 points - SILVER! An amazing score from you all. Well done!
Special congratulations must also go to the Year 3/4 team who achieved the top team score overall in their category with 1,185 points - GOLD! A real team triumph! Well done!
Alongside these amazing team achievements we also had some outstanding individual performances and points.
Huge congratulations go to the following pupils -
Jasper P, who achieved the top male individual score across the GVTSSP with 239 points. Well done Jasper! Jasper received a gold medal for this great achievement.
Teagan W, who achieved the third top female individual score across the GVTSSP with 207 points. Well done Teagan! Teagan received a bronze medal for this great achievement.
Ronny T, who achieved the top male individual score across the GVTSSP with 206 points. Well done Ronny! Ronny received a gold medal for this great achievement.

Isla G and Isla S, who jointly achieved the top female individual scores across the GVTSSP with 174 points. Well done Isla and Isla! Both girls received a gold medal for their great achievement.
