At Abbot's Hall Primary School we are committed to providing inclusive and high quality support for all learners across the curriculum. We work to ensure that resources and support are available to enable all children to meet their full potential whether or not they have a diagnosed Special Educational Need or Disability.
We recognise that many children will experience difficulties at some point in their education and strive to ensure all needs are met, whether a child requires long or short term support to manage this.
We work effectively with children, parents, carers and other agencies and services to enable us to provide the best possible care and education for every pupil by making reasonable adjustments to our curriculum, building and grounds in line with the Equalities Act 2010.
An invited Parent Forum met to discuss how to present SEND information to parents and the community and came up with a document for our SEN Information report and a number of 'Frequently Asked Questions', which you will find below as well as useful website links.

Inclusion Quality Mark
Abbot's Hall has been awarded the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) Centre of Excellence. Our assessment day for the award was on 10th October 2023. It involved speaking with SLT, staff, governors, parents/carers and, of course, the children about how we promote the inclusion of everyone at Abbot’s Hall Primary School as well as learning walks throughout the day to see the inclusion in action. This award recognises schools which continue to demonstrate a commitment to outstanding levels of inclusive practice. A very positive and detailed report from the IQM assessor really captures our ‘Be the best that you can be’ ethos through the support and opportunities we provide for every member of our school community. This is something we are very proud of and we take great pride in sharing our practice with colleagues from other settings.
The Local Authority Offer
Local Authorities and schools are required to publish and keep under review information about services they expect to be available for the children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities aged 0-25. This is the ‘Local Offer’.
The intention of the Local Offer is to improve choice and transparency for families. It will also be an important resource for parents in understanding the range of services and provision in the local area.
