Welcome to our Online Safety Page |
It is important that children understand the many benefits of being online, but also how to keep safe and what steps to take when reporting any concerns. At Abbot’s Hall Primary School we encourage children to talk openly and confidently about concerns they may have around internet safety.
As part of the Trust’s ICT and Internet Acceptable Use Policy children and parents / carers are asked to sign an acceptable use agreement
CET ICT Acceptable Use of ICT Policy
It can be difficult to keep up with rapidly evolving technology and knowing how to keep your child safe online. It is important that parents / carers speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online to remain consistent in the messages we send between home and school.
There are a number of websites which children, and parents, may find useful for advice on staying safe online –
The CEOP website gives advice regarding online safety and can also be used to report any online concerns https://www.ceop.police.uk/Safety-Centre/
Thinkuknow is run by CEOP and has several resources to share with your child. They have games that promote online safety for various age groups https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/
Childnet have some great, age appropriate resources for children including links to videos to share with your child https://www.childnet.com/
Please contact the Headteacher if you have any online safety concerns. You can do this by calling the office to arrange an appointment. Alternatively you can email office@abbotshall.suffolk.sch.uk
