On Thursday 2nd May 2024, ten Year 5 and 6 pupils represented the school at the GVTSSP U11 Tennis Competition (Mini Orange).
The competition took place at Thurston Community College, with five different schools from across the GVTSSP taking part. Each team was made up of 4 players - 2 boys and 2 girls. Boys ranked 1-2 and girls ranked 1-2. The format of the competition was on a round robin basis and teams played singles matches against their opposition.
Abbot's Hall played extremely well and both teams were showing great promise. With each game the pupils gained a greater understanding of the game of tennis.
Both Abbot's 1 and Abbot's 2 won all of their games against the other schools. However, when playing each other Abbot's 1 managed to defeat Abbot's 2. At the end of the competition we were delighted when the results revealed that Abbot's 2 had achieved silver and Abbot's 1 had achieved gold!
