Teaching Assistant

Grade 3 Point 4

38 weeks per year, 27.5 hours per week, 5.5 hours per day

Currently due to COVID staggered starts: 8.30am to 3pm

£18426 pro rata



We are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to join our friendly and successful primary school, to undertake the responsibilities of supporting learning, progress and attainment of pupils.


You will be:

Previous school based experience is highly desirable with experience of working with children, providing interventions, working 1:1, with small groups and whole class support.


Early years experience and/or qualifications in working with and supporting pupils with behaviour or learning needs is highly desirable


You must have obtained a grade C/4 or above in English and maths at GCSE or equivalent.

Midday Supervisor


Someone who enjoys working with children. The successful candidate will need to be reliable, a good time keeper, confident when dealing with pupils, good communicator, team player, calm and willing to undertake any training relevant to the post, including first aid.


The post involves supporting, engaging and playing with children through lunchtime, supervision of the dining hall and playground. 1 hour 35 minutes each day normally 11.45am until 1.20pm however currently due to COVID 19 staggered lunches this could be anytime between 11.45am and 1.45pm


Salary will be: Single status grade 1, point 1, £17842 full time equivalent, £9.25 per hour.


This post is term time only (38 weeks per year), for 7 hours and 55mins (7.92) per week and is a permanent position.
