On Wednesday 25th September 2024, twenty nine Year 5 and 6 pupils went to Stowmarket High School to take part in the GVTSSP U11 Cross Country Competition. The Abbot's Hall pupils competed against children from other local primary schools across the partnership, over a 2km grass course (2 full laps of the high school field).
As always, the competition was fierce! There were 9 schools at the competition with another 5 schools taking part in another competition on Friday. With true Abbot's Hall determination and passion, all twenty nine pupils finished the race with some amazing times. Out of the 9 schools attending the competition Abbot's Hall came in first place for the team event - GOLD! There were outstanding performances from Brochlan - not only our first finisher, but the first runner of the whole competition to finish with an amazing time of 8 minutes 38 seconds. Our first female finisher was Charlotte, who finished in the top 10 girls. Well done Brochlan and Charlotte.
Well done to everyone that took part and helped Team Abbot's to achieve the TEAM GOLD. It was a real team effort, with all pupils working hard to be the best that they can be! Go TEAM ABBOT'S!
UPDATE!
After both U11 Cross Country competitions took place we have been notified that 3 pupils from our Year 6 have qualified for the Cross Country Finals at Royal Hospital School on Thursday 17th October. Huge congratulations go to Charlotte, Oliver and Rocky. Good luck to you all! Be the best that you can be!
