Thank you for taking the time to complete some learning tasks at home during the time that school is closed. We really appreciate your support in continuing with learning to support the revision and progress of your child.

Each day we will post a '5 a day', this is something our children love to do each morning. We will also post some ideas for Maths, English and Topic, linked to learning your children will have already been doing in school. We aim to post a mixture of activities that can be downloaded, completed online and also activities that can be completed off-screen. The daily activities we have planned for you should aim to total around 2-4 hours.

We hope you enjoy learning together home,

From the Year 3 Team :-)

A Daily Message from the Year 3 Teachers

Friday 3rd July 2020

Good Morning Year 3 and happy Friday!

Thank you for your hard work yesterday. As always on a Friday, remember to keep your eye out on the 'class pages' section of the website today as Mrs Bailey is doing our virtual proud assembly for this week and will be uploading it for everyone at home to watch!

The answers to the maths task from yesterday are uploaded onto the page if you need them :-)

If you didn’t get a chance to look at the topic page yesterday, we have moved the special ‘Lockdown window’ task onto the ‘ongoing’ learning page. We would love to be see a snippet into your lockdown stories so if you can please find the time to complete these over the next week - It should be a lovely keepsake to look back on in years to come too!

As a school we are already planning some fun things for children to do at home in the last week. So we hope that you look forward to this!!

Please keep in touch and share your learning with us.

The Year 3 Team.

Messages from our Teaching Assistants

Mrs Gilchrist and Mrs Manser

Hello Year, 3 😊

I hope you’ve all had a good week and enjoyed the learning on the website.

I particularly enjoyed watching the interesting video Terence the Roman soldier sent us, some parts even made me laugh. I thought I would have a go playing his dice game however I had to think of my own ideas as I haven’t got a tortoise!

Rules

If I roll a ……

  1. I have to say one thing that has made me happy today.
  2. I practise the two times table, for a challenge I start at 24 and go backwards.
  3. I hold a balance for 3 seconds.
  4. I say red lorry, yellow lorry, four times quickly, (can you do it?).
  5. I practise my 5 times table all the way to 60.
  6. The other player has to tell me what is special about me or what I am good at.

Maybe you can make up your own game or have a go at this one.

Missing you all.

Mrs Gilchrist

Hello everyone!

Hope you are all okay and keeping busy with all the amazing learning being set every day. The Romans is one of my favourite topics and I can't believe the school got a video from a Roman soldier!!

I miss you all so much and can't wait until we are all together again at our wonderful school. In the meantime, I am keeping busy and growing lots of things in my garden. I have planted cucumbers, strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes, carrots, lettuce and pumpkins (ready for Halloween!)

I had a lockdown birthday in April which was a bit strange. As you can see I was treated to an online afternoon tea. If you have had a birthday recently I hope you had a great day.

Stay safe and see you all soon.

Mrs Manser
